What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ground Test Intern position at Whisper Aero?
About the Role
The purpose of this role is to assist the ground test team in running experiments on Whisper’s revolutionary electric propulsors. The candidate will design test hardware, data acquisition software, electronics, and instrumentation for ground test rigs. The candidate will also perform some functions as a data analyst using ground test data.
What You’ll Do
- Designing test hardware, data acquisition software, electronics, and instrumentation for ground test rigs
- Perform analysis of ground test data
- Communicate with other groups to integrate designs and frameworks
- Prepare and conduct design reviews
Basic Qualifications
- US Person
- Pursuing a BS or MS in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related discipline
- Proficient with discipline-specific software: CAD (SolidWorks preferred), Python, LabView, EAGLE, OpenVSP, Julia, FORTRAN
- Experience with projects in field of study
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience in rapid prototyping, designing to take full advantage of 3D printing tools
- Drone or model aircraft experience
- Experience designing tooling, test fixtures, and ground equipment
- Experience constructing, running, and validating models
- Experience designing electronic assemblies
