Title: Housekeeper Crew Member
Reports To: Housekeeping Manager
Job Summary:
A Housekeeping Team Member is responsible for providing superlative service to Jellystone Park™ guests and co-workers in performing all housekeeping duties. Maintain a clean, sanitary, comfortable and tidy environment. Note that our accommodations are not typical hotel rooms, but rather, they are cabins or glamping units with several rooms. This requires more attention to detail and following procedures than a typical hotel situation.
Essential Job Duties: (these duties include, but are not limited to):
1. Follow detailed checklists for cleaning procedures of all lodging accommodation types, restroom/shower houses, and any other facilities.
2. Correspond with Reservation & Registration team members as to any changes in arrivals and departures of lodging accommodations.
3. Complete inventory of lodging accommodation contents on form provided. Provide information on any missing items to the Housekeeping Manager
4. Daily cleaning of bathhouse
a. sweeping, scrubbing, and mopping floors
b. cleaning metal fixtures and fittings
c. empty and clean trash containers
d. dispose of trash in a sanitary manner
e. clean all showers
f. wipe down any glass surfaces
g. cleaning sinks and counters
5. Operate cleaning equipment
6. Maintain all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working condition
7. Check to make sure all appliances in rental units are in working order, report repairs necessary to Housekeeping Manager
8. Realign furniture and amenities according to prescribed layouts of lodging accommodations
9. Respond to all guest queries and requests in a manner consistent with our customer experience standards
10. Respond to all calls for housekeeping problems such as spills, missing items
11. Inspect and turn mattresses regularly
12. Replenish supplies in lodging accommodations and bathrooms, such as: paper products, soap dispensers, etc
13. Maintain all assigned areas in a clean and sanitary condition including but not limited to the Laundry Area
14. Gather and empty trash from lodging accommodations and bathrooms
15. Notify Housekeeping Manager/Maintenance Manager concerning the need for major or minor repairs to lodging accommodations, bathhouses, laundry room, or surrounding areas
16. Inventory & Supply monitoring, give a list of needed supplies to Housekeeping Manager and stock all needed equipment and supplies
17. Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and safety
18. Clean interior and exterior of public laundry machines and keep the surrounding area tidy
19. Check smoke detector batteries and carbon monoxide detectors
20. Replace light bulbs (as needed)
21. Maintain professional appearance
22. Create and maintain the illusion that Yogi Bearä and friends are “real” ensuring all guests have a positive and entertaining experience during their stay
23. Any other responsibilities as assigned by Management
Marginal Job Functions:
Attend educational sessions as directed.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or custodial work is preferred but not required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively through both verbal and written venues
- Ability to attend work regularly and work under stressful conditions
- Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques and methods
- Knowledge of cleaning sensitive materials
- Personable, enjoy working with children/people
- Possess excellent organization and project management skills, leadership skills as well as the ability to manage and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Possess exceptional guest relations skills
- Ability to work early morning, evening, weekend & holiday hours are required
Physical Demands:
Employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to kneel, crawl, squat, crouch, reach, bend, stoop and work in confined spaces. Employee is frequently required to lift and move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to tolerate exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals. .
Must be able to transport cleaning supplies in and out of golf carts as well as in and out of lodging accommodations and other park facilities.
Schedule:
- Season: April 15, 2024-October 31, 2024
- Weekends (mainly Fridays, & Sundays)
- Weekdays
- About 20-40 hours a week from April 1- Nov. 1
- Hours per week vary in the Spring & Fall, pick-up during Summer months
- Required to work holidays including Memorial Day Weekend, 4th of July, Labor Day and our Apple Dumpling Festival Weekend
- Vacations/inability to work anytime during one or more of these Holidays can be a determination of employment at Whispering Hills Jellystone Parkä Camp-Resort
Pay:
- Starts at $13.00/hour
Pay increases, when given are based on factors such as above-average performance and earnings of the park and are not necessarily given based on length of service.
