Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Charge Nurse to join our team. The Charge Nurse is responsible for the overall supervision and management of the unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care while maintaining a safe and efficient environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in internal medicine and have the ability to effectively manage a team of nurses and other healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including physical examinations, and specimen collection and processing.
- Utilize ICD-10 coding and HIPAA guidelines to maintain accurate medical records.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients in the ICU, PICU, and home care settings.
- Demonstrate expertise in airway management, including endotracheal intubation and extubation.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and respiratory therapists, to ensure comprehensive care.
- Supervise and mentor nurses and other staff members to promote professional growth and development.
- Manage the unit's daily operations, including scheduling, staffing, and inventory management.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and reduce readmissions.
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or related field.
- Current RN licensure in the state of residence.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical office or acute care setting.
- Experience in an ICU or PICU environment is highly preferred.
- Proven experience with ICD-10 coding and HIPAA guidelines.
- Certification in charge nurse or nurse management is desirable.
