What are the responsibilities and job description for the Treatment Nurse-Long Term Care Facility position at Whispering Oaks Rehab & Nursing?
As a Treatment / Wound Nurse at Whispering Oaks Rehab & Nursing , you will be responsible for performing resident skin assessments, obtaining treatment orders, administering treatments as ordered, and documenting appropriately to help ensure that resident skin integrity is improved and / or maintained. Other duties and job details to be discussed at interview.
The Wound Care Nurse duties at Whispering Oaks Rehab & Nursing include :
Provides patient, family and staff education regarding prevention of pressure ulcers and therapeutic support services, dressing selection and adjunctive therapy.
Collaborates with clinical staff, physicians and other members of the treatment team to provide the patient with the highest quality and most appropriate wound care.
Acts as a resource for the treatment team and clinical staff and assists with staffing as assigned.
Trains and manages the Wound Care Team Members to include orientation, competency validation and in-service training.
Organizes and directs the interdisciplinary Wound Care Committee
Perform additional duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications :
Projects a professional image.
Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
Knowledge of wound care related products and procedures preferred.
Identification and utilization of industry evidence base standards related to wound care.
Knowledge of comprehensive wound management including wound assessment, formulation of treatment plan, recommendation of appropriate wound dressing, documentation, evaluation, education, data collection, surveillance and outcome data preferred.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Working knowledge of personal computer and software applications used in job functions (Order entry, data input etc.)
Education and / or Experience :
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
Active / Valid RN / LVN nursing license in the state of Texas. (Required)
Minimum of (1) year of comprehensive wound management including wound assessment, formulation of treatment plan, recommendation of appropriate wound dressing, documentation, evaluation, education, data collection, surveillance and outcome data.
Knowledge of principals of infection control.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations :
Current professional nursing license for the state of Texas.
Must maintain current BLS certification and CPR certification throughout employment.
Wound Care Nursing Certification and Wound Debridement Certification preferred.
