We are seeking a passionate, creative, and compassionate Life Enrichment Director to join our team and help shape meaningful programs for our residents.
Position Summary
The Life Enrichment Director is responsible for planning, participating in, coordinating, and implementing engaging activities and programs that enhance the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional well-being of our Memory Care residents. This role collaborates closely with interdisciplinary team members to ensure programming is person-centered and aligns with the unique needs of each resident.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Development & Management: Create and maintain a variety of therapeutic and recreational programs designed to engage residents with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
- Team Collaboration: Work with the team to integrate life enrichment activities into daily care plans.
- Resident Engagement: Encourage social interaction among residents by organizing group sessions, one-on-one engagement.
- Budget Oversight: Manage and track the life enrichment budget, including supplies, equipment, and special events.
- Community Partnerships: Foster relationships with local organizations (e.g., schools, volunteer groups, and arts programs) to enhance the variety and depth of activities available to residents.
- Documentation & Reporting: Track and document program effectiveness, resident participation, and individual progress. Prepare regular reports to identify any potential improvements.
- Staff Supervision & Training: Lead and mentor activity staff and volunteers, providing guidance and training on best practices for Memory Care programming.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in an activity or Life Enrichment role, ideally within Memory Care, assisted living, or a senior living environment.
- Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong understanding of dementia care principles and person-centered engagement strategies.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with residents, families, and team members.
- Creativity in designing activities that cater to varied interests and cognitive levels
