Position: Control States Manager, East Region
WhistlePig is a leader in the Ultra-Premium whiskey category, known for its bold and innovative approach to crafting world-class rye whiskey. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Regional Sales Manager to oversee our Control State Partnerships. This role is vital for driving growth and ensuring the success of our brand in key territories, including but not limited to NC, VA, ME, NH, and VT.
Reporting to the Director of Control States, the Regional Sales Manager will collaborate with distributors, lead execution within Liquor Boards, and manage strategic retail and on-premise accounts to achieve WhistlePig's ambitious goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Frequent travel (>50%) by air and auto.
Extensive computer usage.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
Home office or field environment with frequent visits to headquarters.
Moderate physical demands, including movement and lifting.
Regular travel to customer sites.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement annual sales plans, KPIs, and execution standards for control state territories.
- Manage provincial and key customer P&L planning and performance measurement.
- Execute and evaluate Liquor Board and On-Premise programs.
- Proactively analyze business and brand performance to drive strategy adjustments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Liquor Boards, key customers, and sales distributors.
- Lead monthly and quarterly reviews in collaboration with distributors.
- Support top-tier sales execution through GSMs, surveys, blitzes, account visits, and work-withs.
- Evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of local programs.
- Results-Driven: Ability to grow share in assigned accounts through strategic distribution and program activation.
- Financial Acumen: Expertise in pricing strategies and account investment management.
- Business Acumen: In-depth knowledge of the control state customers and market dynamics.
- Negotiation Skills: Proficient in storytelling and overcoming objections with effective sales techniques.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the consumer products industry, preferably in multi-state management.
- Proven leadership experience with a track record of building and developing talent.
- Previous ownership of revenue, A&P spends, and budget management.
- Mastery in relationship building with distributors and key accounts.
- Self-disciplined and flexible self-starter, with confidence and commitment to work independently and meet all project deadlines, including frequently working outside normal business hours.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required, including the experience and ability to present in front of both large and small audiences at any level.
- Passion for spirits and craft production - we love what we do. So should you.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with accuracy.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly in PowerPoint for presentations.
- Valid state driver's license.
- Standing for an extended period of time
- Ability to pick up and/or move objects up to 35 pounds without assistance
- Ability to drive and visit multiple accounts in one day

- Must reside in the territory market area - we're looking for a local with existing relationships to hit the ground running.
