What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at WhistlePig Whiskey?
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing the regular inspection, repair and maintenance of the building and equipment. Ensure the safety of staff and property through preventative maintenance efforts and cross functional collaboration. Provide onsite support to work with contractors and vendors for repairs, and upgrades as well as continuous improvement (CapEx) projects.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds and equipment to ensure safety, functionality and regulatory compliance.
Work with team members to identify and correct safety risks, process failures, mechanical failures and improvement opportunities.
Complete weekly and monthly preventative maintenance (PM) forms to document inspections and any corrective actions.
Perform general (basic level) repairs and upkeep, including troubleshooting electrical, plumbing, HVAC building maintenance.
Respond promptly to emergency or high priority maintenance requests as needed.
Verify and document maintenance efforts undertaken both internally and contractually.
Conduct regular equipment changeovers to support production efficiency, accuracy and uptime.
Troubleshoot, repair and maintain automated equipment and associated change parts to ensure optimal performance.
Works cross-departmentally and cross-locationally to ensure standardized use of best practices company wide.
Actively work with the Safety Officer to address and prevent safety hazards, ensuring facility remains clean, organized and hazard free.
Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), adherence to Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO).
Actively possess and use good hazard recognition and prevention strategies while conducting work and inspections.
Knowledge and ability to operate powered industrial trucks and other industrial machinery.
Knowledge and ability to operate hand and power tools.
Ability to offer onsite support to continuous improvement (CapEx) projects; including meeting and monitoring contractors and verifying work completion.
Ability to become an onsite trainer for powered industrial trucks operators and assist with maintaining training program/documentation.
Knowledge and ability to operate pressure washers, chainsaw and miscellaneous building and lawn care equipment as needed.
Perform Snow and ice removal as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned both within the maintenance department and across other departments as necessary.
