What are the responsibilities and job description for the Children's House: Primary Teacher position at Whitby School?
The Whitby Montessori Children's House seeks a full-time teacher for our Primary Program (students ages 3-6 years old). Candidates will possess knowledge and experience with early childhood. Montessori pedagogy is preferred but not required. The teacher must be comfortable working in a team environment and will be encouraged to contribute positively to all areas of child development while monitoring and assessing student progress. The incumbent will communicate closely with the team teachers and parents while displaying warmth, enthusiasm, and an openness to other perspectives. Teachers will be expected to contribute and share feedback with parents during conferences and in written reports.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in a related field or working toward completion of a degree
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to work as a team member
Posses a positive mindset and is open to learning
Excellent work ethic and strong communication skills
Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment background check
