Long Term Substitute Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) - Whitcomb Middle School
Anticipated Dates of Employment:
March 17, 2025 - May 9, 2025
Salary:
$200.00 per day Long Term Substitute Teacher (same subject/ same classroom 30-90 days).
$275.00 per day Long Term Substitute Teacher (same subject/ same classroom 91 days. DESE license is required).
Organizational Relationship or Line of Authority:
Works under supervision of the Principal and his/her designee and the Director of Student Services.
Statement of Duties:
- Conducts speech and language evaluation in the area of need.
- Provides specific speech and social pragmatic skill development as determined by the Team.
- Participates in the Team process and collaborates in the IEP process.
- Consults with classroom teachers to ensure student’s IEPs and accommodations are being implemented.
- Consults with teachers to assist with appropriate interventions based on student’s needs.
- Experience with developmentally appropriate positive behavior and academic intervention systems for programs and individual students (MTSS).
- Responsible for other instructional and general duties as indicated by the Executive Director of Special Education, Principal, directives of the Superintendent of Schools, or his/her designees and policies of the Marlborough School Committee.
Qualifications:
- Speech Language Pathologist licensing by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and Massachusetts State Certification and Licensing Bureau.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) granted by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) in both speech-language pathology and audiology highly preferred.
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Has experience working with students in a school setting.
- Strong knowledge of the IDEA and MA Regulations.
- Experience working with a diverse population of students and families within a multi-cultural community.
- Strong ability to multi-task and work within a fast paced environment focused on student learning, data collection, and measurable outcomes.
- SEI Endorsement Preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish or Portuguese) strongly preferred
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
