NEST Program Coordinator

Position Summary:

The Program Coordinator, in support of the Program Manager, is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the NEST TEAM and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed care to our clients. This role includes coordinating daily activities, providing regular performance feedback, and ensuring staff meet and maintain the required training. The Program Coordinator is pivotal in fostering a supportive environment, collaborating with the Program Manager to make decisions on de-escalation protocols, and staff scheduling.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinates the daily activities of the NEST TEAM, ensuring seamless operations and adherence to established protocols and procedures.
  • In collaboration with the Program Manager, provides performance feedback to the NEST team, identifies program improvements or changes, and helps ensure staff meet and maintain required training.
  • Coordinate staffing coverage within the department as needed and collaborate with employees on daily interactions with clients.
  • Assist the Program Manager in forming hiring committees as needed to maintain appropriate levels of staffing.
  • Working knowledge of funding streams, reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Assist the Program Manager with new staff onboarding as directed by Human Resources and designated trainers.
  • Works with the Program Manager and White Bird Leadership to collaborate with local community resources, such as mental health agencies, emergency services, and social service organizations, to enhance available support options for clients.
  • Under the direction of the Program Manager or established protocols, make decisions regarding de-escalation protocols, staff scheduling, and performance-related matters.
  • Participate in ongoing, required training and professional development to enhance NEST skills and knowledge and to adhere to State guidelines and compliances.
  • Attend ProCo and Community meetings as required, or send approved representative
  • All other duties as assigned and designated in writing within a reasonable time after assignment.

Minimum Requirements and Education:

Education: High School Diploma/GED required; bachelor's degree in psychology, Sociology, Counseling, or related field preferred.

Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience in trauma-informed care, mental health crisis, emergency services, or a related field.

Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to use empathetic communication in high-stress situations.

Advanced proficiencies in de-escalation techniques.

High level of attention to detail and ability to multitask.

Ability to remain calm and make informed decisions in high-stress situations.

Foster cultural competency to effectively engage with clients from diverse backgrounds.

Proven ability to collaborate with a team, providing regular feedback and identifying areas for improvement.

Compensation Details:

This is a Union, nonexempt, hourly position with pay DOE.
