Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join our team as an Onsite Observer/Construction Administrator. This role requires a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a comprehensive understanding of commercial construction. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring project success through onsite observation and efficient construction administration.
Primary Duties:
· Observing construction to determine conformance with the construction documents
· Writing observation reports
· Photographic documentation
· Field measuring existing conditions
Qualifications: Candidate must possess a comprehensive knowledge of commercial construction including but not limited to concrete, load bearing masonry, structural, steel, metal studs and drywall, modified bitumen roofing, aluminum windows, storefront, and curtainwall, and institutional door hardware. In addition, excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Outlook, Word and Excel are required. Past experience in onsite observation/construction administration for an architect or engineer is a plus.
Job Type: This is a temporary, part time position. It is anticipated that work will begin mid-April 2024 and conclude at the end of December 2025. The number of hours per week will vary depending on the amount of construction completed that week by the Contractor.
Location: The position is related to the construction of a $14 million addition/renovation to an academic building at Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, Missouri. Onsite observations and meetings will be conducted onsite. Candidate will need to use their own computer with internet access and printer for correspondence and preparing reports. The candidate must use their own cell phone for communications and to take photographs.
Pay: Compensation will be determined commensurate with experience and abilities and could range between $25.00/hr to $35.00/hr. Travel time to the site will be paid up to one hour each way along with mileage of $0.67/mile (maximum of 60 miles each way). The position does not include any benefits other than the hourly pay rate and mileage.
