Delivers high-quality nursing care. Assesses individual conditions, supervises support staff, and adjusts nursing care priorities accordingly. Manages and/or provides care to individuals using prescribed long-term treatment methods. Serves as a role model and mentor for new or less experienced staff, demonstrating a strong understanding of facility policies, operational procedures, and regulatory standards. Develops personalized health care nursing plans that encompass admission processes, medication management oversight, therapies and treatments, evaluation of test results, and assessment of the plan's effectiveness. Acts as a liaison among individuals, their families, guardians, advocates, health care professionals, the agency, and other necessary parties. Facilitates medical, dental, vision, and specialty appointments in compliance with the most stringent Federal, State, or local regulations (typically within 30 days) to ensure efficient and timely health care services.
Qualifications:
Must be capable of completing job responsibilities accurately and promptly with minimal supervision. Attention to detail is essential. Must be able to work with individuals across all levels of disabilities. Compliance with local health regulations, successful background checks, drug screenings, and satisfactory employment verification is required. Familiarity with current and established nursing concepts, principles, and practices is necessary. Understanding of Infection Control, Universal Precautions, Incident Reporting, Care Planning, and the skills to develop and implement nursing standards of practice is essential. The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities is required. Basic knowledge of certification requirements for nursing assistants and medical technicians as outlined by the MBON and DDA MTTP process is necessary.

Act as a communication link between individuals and their families, guardians, advocates, healthcare professionals, the agency, and other pertinent parties. Organize medical, dental, vision, and specialty appointments in compliance with the highest Federal, State, or local regulations (typically within 30 days) to ensure timely and effective healthcare services.

• Keep RN license, CPR certification, and auto insurance up to date.
• Fulfill RN/DN certification, complete online HRST Rater training, online HRST Advanced Rater training, and Online HRST Reviewer training.
• Engage in three mandatory DDA meetings annually.
• Actively contribute to staff education initiatives by identifying relevant program topics.
• Facilitate educational sessions as needed to familiarize staff with new equipment, procedures, and treatments.

- Understanding of medication delivery and oversight, management of gastrointestinal tube feeding, diabetes care, wound treatment, as well as supervision and support.
•BS Degree in Nursing.
•Current/valid Maryland RN license
•CPR/First Aid
•Experience in the developmental disabilities environment is highly desired.
