What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Paraprofessional position at White County Central School District?
Perform duties that are instructional in nature and/or deliver direct services to identified students.
Requirements:
Completed two years of study at an institution of higher education In Arkansas, 60 semester credit hours at a regionally accredited institution of higher education are required. -or- Obtained an associate’s (or higher) degree -or- passed Parapro Praxis assessment
Basic computer skills (Google apps) preferred
Ability to work well with children
Knowledge of general office equipment
Proficient skills in typing, word processing, and file maintenance
Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Patient and calm demeanor with students and others
Basic academic skills
Responsibilities:
Provide instructional support and interventions to elementary students in a small group or one-on-one basis as assigned and designed by instructional facilitator/classroom teacher
Keep detailed documentation of interventions/instructional support provided to students
Provide instructional support, as needed, in elementary classrooms
Support and monitor students in In-School Suspension, as needed
Assist in on-campus duties such as car drop-off/pick-up, bus, cafeteria, etc.
Perform other duties as assigned
