Duties
- Receive and assess emergency calls, determining the nature and urgency of the situation.
- Communicate clearly with callers to gather essential information while providing reassurance.
- Dispatch appropriate emergency services (police, fire, medical) based on the situation assessed.
- Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to locate incidents and direct responders accurately.
- Maintain communication with responding units to provide updates and additional information as needed.
- Manage multiple calls simultaneously while prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Demonstrate conflict management skills when dealing with distressed or agitated individuals.
Skills
- Strong analytical skills to assess situations quickly and make informed decisions.
