Job Description:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the production floor, ensuring efficiency, quality, and adherence to safety protocols. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills to effectively manage production teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct safety audits and ensure compliance with company and regulatory safety standards.
- Address potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness among team members.
Production Management
- Supervise daily production activities to ensure schedules, quality, and cost objectives are met.
- Monitor production metrics, address deviations from hourly targets, and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to prioritize machine repairs and minimize downtime.
- Ensure proper handovers between shifts to maintain workflow continuity.
Quality Assurance & Process Improvement
- Maintain product quality standards by monitoring production processes and addressing deviations.
- Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts using structured problem-solving methods such as 4 Steps and 5 Whys.
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and manufacturing best practices.
Team Leadership & Development
- Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities for production team members.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
- Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages accountability and teamwork.
- Handle personnel issues, including attendance, discipline, and conflict resolution.
Operational Efficiency
- Utilize SAP for production tracking, material management, and reporting.
- Oversee and maintain TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and 5S standards.
- Implement and support MIFA (Material & Information Flow Analysis), TIP (Technology Implementation Plan), and Roadmap strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize processes and improve efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production management.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in SAP and production-related systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Experience & EducationEducation: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field preferred.
Experience: 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Certifications: Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related certifications are a plus.
