What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Rooms position at White Elephant Aspen?
White Elephant Resorts, a collection of award-winning boutique hotels and luxury resorts located on Nantucket, Massachusetts, Palm Beach, Florida and Aspen, Colorado, is currently looking for a motivated, hands-on individual to oversee the daily operations of the rooms division for the White Elephant Aspen.
The Director of Rooms is responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of the Front Office, Bell Services, Concierge, Pool/Ski, and Housekeeping staff in an attentive, efficient and courteous manner, providing all guests with quality service while maximizing room revenue and occupancy.
As a leader, applicant must embody qualities that help him/her inspire our dynamic team while being open-minded, have self-awareness, be authentic and have positive interpersonal communication skills.
Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within a resort style hotel. Candidate should be looking to grow within the organization, committing to a 5-year development plan.
Other important aspects of this position include the ability to:
- Promote the professional growth and development of the entire Rooms Division team, with a focus on developing a seasonal management team
- Create a culture of positivity, focusing on people while ensuring maximum operational efficiency through appropriate scheduling and employee coaching
- Foster strong inter-departmental relations and integrate the team with other operational departments
- Maintain positive guest relations at all times
- Participate in company-wide initiatives
- Schedule and facilitate regular departmental training
Applicants should also work well under pressure, possess excellent communication skills, be organized, flexible, self-motivated, and have a great sense of humor. Experience with computers and Microsoft Office essential.
