Key Responsibilities :
Schedule and coordinate pick up freight for drivers.
Monitor shipment progress and resolve real-time issues.
Maintain constant communication with drivers, customers, and contract carriers.
Ensure deadlines for all pickups and deliveries.
Ensure compliance with DOT and FMCSA rules and regulations for drivers and equipment.
Use transportation management software (TMS) to record, track, and report loads.
Review and process delivery documents like Bill of Lading (BOL) and request Certificate of Insurance (COI).
Collaborate with internal departments including operations, warehouse, sales, and compliance to optimize transportation operations.
Requirements :
Previous experience as a Dispatcher or in a similar role within transportation / logistics (1-2 years preferred).
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) such as Alvys.
Strong negotiation skills with rates and contracts.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly.
High attention to detail and organizational skills.
