Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team. In this role, you will provide exceptional care to expectant mothers and their newborns during the labor and delivery process. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the health and safety of both mother and child while offering support and education throughout the birthing experience.

Duties

• Assess and monitor patients’ physical and emotional needs during labor and delivery.
• Provide nursing care during labor, including monitoring vital signs, fetal heart rate, and uterine contractions.
• Assist in the delivery of babies, including assisting with cesarean sections, forceps or vacuum-assisted deliveries, and natural births.
• Administer medications as ordered, including pain management options like epidurals or IV pain medications.
• Offer emotional support and education to patients and families during labor and delivery.
• Monitor the health and wellbeing of newborns post-delivery, including initiating breastfeeding, assessing APGAR scores, and administering newborn screenings.
