Job Title : Surgical Technologist (OR Tech)

Job Summary : We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Technologist to join our team. The Surgical Tech will work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other medical professionals to ensure that patients receive the highest quality care before, during, and after surgery. The role involves preparing the operating room, assisting with patient preparation, and maintaining a sterile environment throughout surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare and organize the operating room by ensuring all necessary surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment are sterile and ready for use.
- Assist in the setup of surgical instruments, sutures, and other materials.
- Hand surgical instruments to the surgeon and other medical staff during procedures.
- Maintain a sterile field during surgery by observing proper aseptic techniques.
- Monitor and ensure the functionality of equipment used during surgery, troubleshooting as needed.
- Assist in positioning patients on the operating table, making sure they are comfortable and properly positioned.
- Prepare patients for surgery by applying dressings and assisting in cleaning or draping the surgical site.
- Maintain surgical count of sponges, instruments, and needles before, during, and after surgery to ensure nothing is left inside the patient.
- Assist with the application of dressings and other post-operative tasks as directed by the surgical team.
- Ensure proper sterilization and storage of surgical instruments after use.
- Maintain accurate records and assist in patient documentation as required by hospital protocols.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team, anticipating the needs of the surgeon and adjusting as necessary during the procedure.
- Follow hospital safety protocols, including infection control measures, to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Stay updated on surgical techniques, instruments, and procedures to ensure the highest standard of care.
