What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Paraprofessional position at White Hall School District?
The White Hall School District is seeking a qualified paraprofessional for special needs students. Should have excellent communication skills, provide a positive environment and assist in ongoing assessment of students' learning and progress, and modify instructional methods to fit individual student's needs. The duties would include assisting teachers and staff in assigned responsibilities for all facets of daily activity duties and provide assistance in math and literacy intervention, recess duty and any other duties assigned. This assignment may include working one on one with individual students.
Position Purpose:
Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to promote the development of skills and ensure a safe learning environment. Must adhere to confidentiality policies and practices for student(s) as outlined by the teacher and the principal.
Essential Functions:
Assist in the preparation of classroom material.
Assist with the assessment and evaluation of learning as necessary.
Assist with record keeping and academic reports.
Supervise students as assigned and support student learning.
Maintain strict confidentiality of student's records and data.
Applicants must have a paraprofessional certificate from taking the Praxis or 60 hours or more of college credit.
