Police Officer

Job Summary
As a Police Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining public safety and enforcing laws within the community. This position requires a commitment to protecting life and property, preventing crime, and providing assistance to those in need. You will be responsible for patrolling assigned areas, responding to emergency calls, and engaging with the community to foster trust and cooperation.

Duties

• Patrol designated areas on foot or in a vehicle to deter and detect criminal activity.
• Respond promptly to emergency calls and incidents, providing assistance as needed.
• Conduct thorough investigations of crimes, accidents, and other incidents.
• Write detailed reports documenting incidents, observations, and actions taken.
• Enforce laws and regulations while maintaining order and public safety.
• Engage with community members to build positive relationships and address concerns.
• Handle animals in distress or involved in incidents, ensuring their safety and care.
• Utilize conflict management skills to de-escalate tense situations effectively.
• Participate in training programs to enhance skills in first aid, leadership, and loss prevention.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; and have Act 120 certificate or enrolled in police academy.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings as part of the hiring process.
• Strong report writing skills for accurate documentation of incidents.
• Experience or training in animal handling is a plus for managing situations involving animals.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and the capacity to work well under pressure.
• Familiarity with conflict management techniques to handle various situations effectively.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 32 per week
