Responsibilities
- Performs detailed physical examination of residents on admission and focused examinations based on residents’ health problems and clinical presentation.
- Assesses each resident for physical, psychological, cognitive, social, and spiritual needs. Plans and implements interventions to meet these needs.
- Assists the interdisciplinary team in planning resident care and developing a written plan of care.
- Reviews laboratory and other diagnostic study results. Reports abnormal findings to the physician.
- Assesses resident for pain and manages resident’s pain proactively and effectively.
- Recognizes health problems and treatments that may cause pain and administers pharmacologic and complementary interventions to prevent discomfort.
- Gives complete and quality nursing care in accordance with established standards of Gerontological Nursing Practice, state and federal regulations and facility policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months experience as an LPN
- Long term care experience a plus!
