In the need to protect our staff and patients, White House Clinics is requiring COVID-19 vaccination for all new hires prior to starting employment.
Triage Nurse Responsibilities:
- Acts as the intermediary between patients and care team.
- Relays messages to medical providers from patients, requests plan of action for patient care and relays direction from care team to the patient.
- Serves as main point of contact for patient lab results and other instruction from the care teams to patients.
- Provides education to patients regarding lab results, clarification of provider instruction (within scope of license) and answers general medical questions.
- Provides education on COVID-19 vaccination and schedules patients for vaccine appointments.
- Assists with pre-authorizations for medications and assists providers with prescription requests.
- Works within scope to triage patient medical concerns, schedule medical visits when appropriate, provide basic care and education to patients, and direct patients to higher level of care as needed.
- Maintains accurate and thorough patient records.
- Records vital statistics and other pertinent patient data including medical and social histories as needed.
- Documents every patient contact in patient chart.
- Ensures all patient calls are answered, messages are returned and all contact is documented within the specified timeframes as determined by organizational policy.
- Assists Patient Access team members with in-person triage and assessment of walk-in patients and works with medical provider to determine care plan for patient.
- Other duties within the scope of practices as assigned by the provider and/or supervisor.
- Provides superior customer service to all patients, external customers (office staff of other offices, hospital, community agencies, etc.), and co-workers. Serves as an ambassador of the White House Clinics in all conversations and interactions with these parties.
- Maintains personal compliance with all White House Clinic policies and procedures (OSHA, HIPAA, Standing Orders, etc.)
Registered Nurse REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Education
Completion of an accredited nursing program
Minimum Work Experience
Minimum 1 year medical office experience preferred.
Required License
Current Kentucky Nursing License
Basic Life Support Certification
