Exciting and exclusive opportunity to develop and launch the clinical program for the newest subsidiary of large national substance abuse and mental health provider. We are recruiting for a Medical Director to provide clinical leadership for a brand new 300-bed detox and residential facility located one hour north of Columbus in the picturesque community of Mount Vernon, Ohio.

The Medical Director provides clinical leadership in collaboration with the Clinical Director and treatment team. The selected individual will help draft policies, rules, and regulations of the facility, assist with the overall medical quality management of the facility, providing leadership and guidance for physicians, allied staff, and the facility’s clinical staff.
Job Duties:
· Supervises and evaluates psychiatric treatment provided in the program for all patients.
· Creates and oversees all 3.7 medically managed withdrawal management protocols.
· Charts in accordance with company policy.
· Collaborates with ARNP/PA-C, Director of Nursing, and other nursing staff to discuss patients, treatment team’s
recommendations, and program integrity.
· Annually reviews medical protocols and infection control plans.
· Reviews and counter signs appropriate medical orders in client charts.
· Reviews and signs/countersigns appropriate lab work including drug test results.
· Provides consultation to all staff as needed.
· Provides emergency coverage after hours, as needed, on rotation with other providers.
· The medical director participates in QA/IP and will make recommendations to improve quality care as necessary.
· Create admission criteria with complex issues which will trigger clinical or medical review before scheduling admission.
· Assists in periodic review and revision of policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
· Attends treatment team meetings, as scheduled.
· Complies with required hours per contract agreement.
· Works collaboratively with the Program Director, facility staff, medical staff, and allied staff.
Qualifications & Requirements:
· Education: Graduated from an accredited Medical School or School of Osteopathic Medicine; Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist.
· Experience: A minimum of one year in an inpatient substance abuse setting, serving in administrative function preferred.
· Licensure/Certification: Licensed to practice medicine (MD or DO) in the state of Ohio.
· Knowledge & Training Required Knowledge of the Principles and Practices of the discipline. Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards. Demonstrates Proficiency in Communication & Written skills. Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding Patient Confidentiality laws. Knowledge of Drug-Free Workplace Policies. Knowledge of Workplace Violence.

Pay: $141,000.00 - $350,000.00 per year
