Responsibilities
What You'll Do
- Oversee the daily care and well-being of the goat herd, ensuring optimal health and nutrition.
- Perform and manage daily milking operations, including sanitation and maintenance of milking equipment.
- Monitor herd health, including administering medications, vaccinations, and working with veterinarians as needed.
- Maintain and clean barns, pens, and pasture areas to promote a healthy living environment.
- Train, supervise, and mentor seasonal staff in animal care and farm operations.
- Assist with breeding, kidding, and newborn goat care, including bottle-feeding as needed.
- Manage feed inventory, ensuring goats have consistent access to fresh water and high-quality nutrition.
- Maintain and repair livestock handling equipment and farm infrastructure.
- Lead guest experiences, including educational tours and interactive demonstrations.
What You'll Bring
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving farm operations.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Experience in dairy goat management, milking, or animal husbandry preferred.
- Veterinary knowledge and previous experience working with goats are a plus.
