An overview of this position entails…This position is responsible for implementing the pre-plea process for youth who are before the District Court with the goal of reducing the Average Daily Population (ADP) for youth in detention, by providing aggressive case management for all juveniles screened, completing court reports, assessments, screening and bed management.   

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Complete required assessments to include; Statewide juvenile detention screening and assessment guide (JDSAG), pre-screen Colorado Juvenile Risk Assessment (CJRA) on all juveniles screened, face to face interviews for a full CJRA on all moderate / high risk juveniles (according to the pre-screen CJRA), and enter TRAILS and SAVIO data within one week of screen date for Statewide database.

2. Prepare and submit required reports to include; detention hearing reports according to requirements of the Colorado Revised Statutes Children’s Code (19-1-107), pre-trial assessment forms as required by the courts, weekly updates on all youth in detention beds, assessments to the courts at advisement of charges hearings and Emergency Release plans. Complete required documentation and actively participates in the Individual Services and Supports Team (ISST) and Family Engagement Meetings (FEM) for placement and services review.

3. Provide intensive case management and tracking services: attend court hearings, linking families with community services, document all client contacts, facilitates or attends meetings related to court, school, employment, Department of Human Services, Probation, or other appointments, administers drug screenings, and ensuring youth are complying with established curfews, etc.

4. Consult and inform parents of their child’s status in the judicial system and facilitates their involvement in the judicial process.

5. Maintain professional working relationships with community agencies, work collaboratively to support the best interest of the child, and demonstrate knowledge of said agencies expectations, mandates and procedures.

6. Professional conduct, dress and language during all interaction(s) with any agency or persons involved with the juvenile.

7. Maintain client confidentiality.

8. Manage caseload to produce professional work, meet deadlines, and provide effective case management.

9. Provide on-call screening for law enforcement agencies; including scheduled nights, weekends, and holidays.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in a human services-related field, or eight years of related experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License
  • CPR/First Aid Certificate (preferred)
  • Certificate from Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI Training) (preferred)
  • Hilltop’s Transportation Certification (preferred)

    • The starting wage range for this role is $26.00 to $27.30 per hour.
