Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner – Endocrinology/Internal Medicine - Los Angeles

White Memorial Medical Group is seeking a PA-C / NP to join our endocrinologists expanding practice. This is an opportunity for a new graduate or seasoned advance care practitioner to gain experience in the field of endocrinology and begin a career as an Endocrine PA / NP. Work closely together with the endocrinologist attending to diagnose, manage, and treat endocrine disorders. Our endocrinologist is very interested and passionate about hands on teaching and is a core faculty of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at White Memorial. The main scope of the work will be to assist the endocrinologist with seeing patients in the outpatient setting. You will have the opportunity to become proficient at treating common endocrine disorders including diabetes, hypo / hyperthyroidism, hypertension, hypogonadism, etc. Eventually, if desired, will have the option to see patients in the inpatient setting as well.

• Evaluate and assess patients endocrine disorders
• Treat endocrine disorders under the supervision and guidance of an endocrinologist
• Write and chart notes using EMR
• Prescribe medications using EMR
• Assist with refills using EMR
• Navigate the healthcare system, referring patients to receive diagnostic tests, treatments
• Assist with coordinating care for patients with nursing staff, other physicians
• Educate patients and medical students

We are looking for candidates who are mission minded and interested in making a difference in the lives of patients living in Boyle Heights. 90% of our patient population is Hispanic and Spanish is their primary language. The candidate must be eager to learn with a healthy amount of curiosity and a desire to learn and understand complex pathophysiologies. Reading primary resources, textbooks, and journal articles will be expected.
