We are seeking an experienced Fiber Splicer to join our team at White Mountain Cable Construction.
- Maintain and repair fiber optic cables in aerial and underground telecom infrastructure.
- Build, prepare, splice, tag, and test new cables to meet client requirements.
- Locate and repair cable faults to maintain existing networks without signal failure interruptions.
- Validate and test end-to-end service provisioning for the cable network.
- Confirm accurate cable terminations on cross-connects, patch panels, hubs, and routers.
- Review site surveys, condition discrepancy reports, design drawings, and technical manuals for cable installation feasibility.
- Maintain safe working habits and conditions according to regulations, procedures, and policies.
Requirements
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Hold authorization to work in the United States for this company.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- Have at least 2 years of experience in fiber splicing.
- Be proficient in the use of all test and splicing equipment and software used by the company.
- Knowledge of hot cuts and solid OTDR testing is preferred.
- Ribbon splicing knowledge is also preferred.
Physical Abilities and Exposures
- Routinely perform duties that require standing, crouching, climbing, sitting, bending, using hands and fingers, and reaching with hands and arms.
- Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
