What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Assistant (Part-time) position at White Periodontics & Implant Dentistry?
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures
- Prepare patients for appropriate dental treatment
- Take appropriate and accurate radiographs
- Manage medical records and patient information
- Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures
- Performs various office tasks as needed
- Provides active chairside assistance; anticipates the dentist’s needs
- Performs coronal polishing and topical medications as required
- Take impressions for study casts and custom trays as needed
- Clean operatory surfaces with disinfectant solution (OSHA regulations)
- Must be comfortable speaking with patients about treatment plans and financial cost
- Record vitals, medications, medical and dental histories
REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance
- Experience with four-handed dentistry techniques
- Strong understanding of dental terminology
- Clean soiled instruments placed in sterilization area and sort / package instruments by kit(tray) for proper sterilization
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask (help in other areas of the office when necessary)
- Must be able to work efficiently in a fast paced environment
PREFERENCES:
- Previous experience as a dental receptionist is a plus
- 3-5 years experience preferred but we are willing to train a motivated candidate with a dental background.
COMPENSATION:
Hourly Pay Rate is dependent on relevant experience.
HOURS:
Hours are Wednesday and Thursday 7:45-5:00 pm and Friday 7:45-3:00 pm.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
