Position Summary:
The Senior CT/IR Technologist plans, coordinates, and oversees the day-to-day operations of the CT/ Special Procedures department consisting of a diverse team of technologist and/or technical support staff. Establishes and implements procedure protocols. Supervises and trains lower-level technologists, and students engaged in CT/Interventional Radiology. Develops, implements, and administers operating, and quality assurance. Oversees the safe operation of the equipment, compliance with all relevant regulations, and departmental policies and procedures.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following:
- Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors
- Manages daily operations & fiscal aspects of the department (s), makes operational/administrative decisions.
- Demonstrates ability to manage Department/Division in a fiscally responsible manner:
- Manages daily operations and all personnel in the division and all related areas, including staff training & education.
- Coordinates and oversees the resources of multiple administrative disciplines/functions.
- Identifies revenue cycle best practices and supports implementation within the department.
- Develops policies and procedures to improve staff performance and operational efficiency
- Supports customer service initiatives as well as interact with patients or others on customer service issues.
- Supervises technical personnel, to include work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
- Performs and/or oversees the performance of special procedures, to include instructing and manipulating patients, selecting techniques and calibrating equipment, and obtaining and developing images.
- Ensures adherence to established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, and safety standards.
- Develops or assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures consistent with those of the organization to ensure efficient and safe operation of the unit.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned
Education& Experience Requirements:
- American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT)(CT) registered.
- New York State licensure: American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT).
- American Registry of Radiologic Technology Certification as a Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology Technologist
- BLS certification through the (AHA) American Heart Association is required or must be completed with 90 days of hire.

Physical/Mental Demands/Requirements & Work Environment:
- Must be able to remain in stationary position 50% of the time
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the department to access coils and paperwork.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
- The person in this position frequently communicates with patients who have questions about their bills/financial obligations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Must be able to observe and inspect employees and patients in the department
- Frequently move and position patients for exams
- May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed to are listed in the hospital’s SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and may be accessed through the hospital’s Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access). A copy of the SDS data base can also be found at the hospital switchboard, saved on a disc.
