Job Summary:
Shift Leads provide leadership to the shop team, ensuring White Rhino baristas have all they need to provide an excellent customer experience. Shift Leads run the shift, providing direction and assistance, handling customer issues, and supervising all operations of the shop during the shift.
Daily Tasks and Projects:
- First point of customer service, greeting and serving customers with a standard of excellence
- Operate all barista station including bar, bar-back and POS
- Maintain bar and café cleanliness
- Exhibit strong knowledge of our beverage and food menu
- Create coffee, tea, and other beverages to order, as well as pastry and Quick Bites items with attention to detail and consistency
- Supervise all staff during the shift, providing resources and assistance, as needed
- Assist with implementing and enforcing shop procedures
- Resolve escalated customer issues and complaints
- Count cash in and out and handle cash drops
- Relay important information to Shop Manager, as needed
- Maintain organization of shop inventory and assist with orders
Job Qualifications:
- Minimum 17 years of age
- Ability to work a minimum of 4-5 shifts per week including weekend availability with reliable transportation
- Ability to attend every monthly staff meeting
- Ability to comply to punctuality and performance standards
- Strong leadership capability
- Excellent customer service and self-awareness
Required Education, Certification, or Experience:
- Food Manager certification (completed within 30 days of hire)
- Previous barista experience a plus, but not required
- All Shift Leads are required to complete 100% of our POS and Barista training within 30 days of hire date
Compensation and Benefits:
- $9.50 - $13.50 per hour $4- $6 tips, based on experience
- 401k and Telehealth (including mental health) after 6-month employment
- Opportunity to participate in additional company benefits (health, dental, vision, etc.) if 30 hr average over 6-month employment
