Job Summary:
This position will carry out the daily production roasting set by Roastery Manager. Self-motivated, detail oriented, passionate about coffee and always striving to improve systems and performance of their department and the company as a whole.
Daily Tasks and Projects:
- Fulfillment of daily roast orders to WRC standards
- Assist with green coffee production by receiving, organizing, and moving product; weighing and batching for recipes
- Accurate inventory management and floor counts in systems
- Participate in quality control evaluations and profile development
- Use constructive feedback from QC evaluations to improve profiles
- Develop an understanding for profile roasting
- Work with the production crew to expedite fulfillment of orders
- General organization of the roastery; cleaning and other duties as needed
Job Qualifications:
- Ability to adapt schedules to changing production and inventory needs
- Ability to communicate effectively and in a timely manner
- High attention to detail require
- A strong passion for coffee
- Intermediate math skills and ability to work with computer programs including Microsoft
- Ability to thrive in an independent, self-directed environment that also has a strong ethic of teamwork and collaboration
- Meet physical requirements: This job consistently requires standing, bending, walking, and lifting up to 75 pounds regularly. Ability to safely operate powered equipment (forklift, power jack, powered tools, etc.) to required.
Required Education, Certification, or Experience:
- Minimum 3 years coffee experience; roasting experience is preferred
- Forklift operation experience preferred
- Prior experience in production, manufacturing, or similar environments preferred
- Texas Food Handlers Certification (within 30 days)
Compensation and Benefits:
- $16-$18/hourly, based on experience
