Title : Hostess / Host-Safety Sensitive
Department : Dietary
Reporting Relationships : Team leader / Manager of food service
Job Summary : Take orders, deliver trays, and stock the nourishment rooms.
Job Duties :
- Take food order in a timely and accurate manner. Assists patients with food preferences and food selection. Good oral communication skills.
- Deliver food orders from the kitchen to patients rapidly and accurately.
- Ensure food is served in accordance with food safety standards. (proper temperature)
- Assists in delivery of stock to floors. Completes stock sheets with honesty according to stock needed on floor.
- Physical ability and stamina to carry trays and stand / walk for long hours
- Answer questions patients have about ingredients and menu items.
- Meets WRH’s attendance expectations as defined in the Personnel Policy / Procedure manual.
- Adheres to WRH’s Dress Code.
- Performs temperature checks on all refrigerators / freezers in each nourishment area on floors. Documents temperatures in the log maintained on floor. At the end of each month logs will be compiled in the diet office.
- Stacks and maintains storage of supplies in appropriate areas in accordance with State Health Regulations.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.
Qualifications :
EDUCATION : Must be able to read, write and perform simple math. High School Diploma or GED preferred.
EXPERIENCE : Previous experience may shorten training time. Must be able to balance several job functions in an organized manner.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS :

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Must be able to stand, bend, push, pull and walk for long periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry 25 pounds. May be required to work long hours in an emergency.
