Job Description
Title : Maintenance Supervisor
Department : Maintenance
Reporting Relationships : Director of Plant Operations
Job Summary : Supervises and coordinates the activities of Maintenance / Grounds Services to maintain a high-quality standard while training, supervising, and motivating all personnel in order to ensure efficient operation of the services provided by each department.
Job Duties :
- Assists others in maintaining a clean facility.
- Recommends and helps plan maintenance of facilities. Reviews and recommends approval of plans for corrective and preventative maintenance.
- Advises Department Director regarding budgets. Orders materials, equipment and supplies as authorized.
- Analyzes costs and work schedules; advises Department Director regarding priories and expedites operations.
- Assist Department Director with personnel matters pertaining to employee training, evaluation, termination and grievances.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Maintains confidentiality of any patient health information seen or heard at any White River Health System facility.
- Meets attendance expectations as defined in Personnel Policy and Procedure Manual.
- Adheres to all time schedules for breaks and meal periods.
- Meets departmental and hospital requirements for departmental meetings and inservices.
- Adheres to WRMC Dress Code Policy.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.
Qualifications :
Verbal ability is to communicate with staff, contractors and others; gather and analyze data and keep informed of new developments.
Essentials :
Physical Demands : Job responsibilities require a considerable amount of physical work. The individual will be required to assist with lifting and moving patients, pushing of carts, wheelchairs, and other equipment; and lifting or pushing of up to 50 pounds. Workday requires frequent walking, stooping, bending, climbing ladders and squatting up to eight (8) hours per day. Must be able to work in confined and enclosed spaces. Must possess good manual dexterity, must possess good visual acuity and not be colorblind. Daily exposure to extreme heat and / or cold environment with humidity and high noise levels. The individual must also be able to maneuver throughout the halls, stairways, and patient rooms in response to hospital emergencies. Interpretation of environmental input requires visual and auditory skills. A significant amount of writing and computer entry is required.
