POSITION SUMMARY:
The Marine Quality Assurance Engineering Technician ensures that mechanical, electrical, propulsion, HVAC, and related systems in marine products meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality expectations. This role involves troubleshooting, testing, and validating components in manufacturing and field environments while collaborating with quality, engineering, and production teams to improve processes and maintain product reliability and safety.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Occasional travel to corporate offices, supplier sites, field locations, or testing facilities
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regularly walks, sits, stands, and does computer work.
Occasionally lifts up to 50 lbs.
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Inspect, test, and validate marine systems for compliance with company and industry standards. 10%
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, propulsion, HVAC, fuel, hydraulics, and structural system issues. 10%
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to enhance product quality and reliability. 10%
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis and process refinement. 10%
- Develop and validate testing procedures for marine systems. 10%
- Have knowledge and understanding of industry standards including, ABYC, NMMA, USCG, and ISO. 10%
- Document test results, non-conformance reports, and corrective actions. 10%
- Collaborate with suppliers to address quality concerns and improve component reliability. 10%
- Provide technical support and training to production teams. 10%
- Assist in reviewing new product designs for quality and manufacturability. 5%
- Conduct noise and vibration analysis to enhance ride quality and comfort. 5%
- ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
- Minimum Degree Required: Associate Degree
- Preferred Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Marine Engineering or related field.
- Years of experience: 3 years of experience in engineering, quality assurance, or manufacturing.
- Knowledge of marine mechanical, electrical, propulsion, HVAC, fuel, hydraulics, and structural systems.
- Experience with diagnostic and testing equipment.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS), Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing is a plus.
- Understanding of regulatory standards (ABYC, NMMA, USCG, ISO 9001).
