The Shipping Yard position is responsible for loading finished boat trailers in designated staging or loading area to be placed onto transport trailers. This position also assists with securing the load for transit.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Operates tractor.
- Pulls finished trailers from plant to staging areas, or from staging areas to loading area.
- Assists with placement on transport trailers, and with securing loads for transit.
- Performs daily tractor inspection and completes inspection form.
- Inspects trailers for potential quality issues and move rejected trailers to red-tag area.
- Maintains safety of others in areas where tractor is being operated.
- Maintains up to date training in MSDS sheets specific to shipping department.
- Maintains all required annual training as listed in Safety Program.
- Inspects loaded transport for loose objects that can fall off in transit.
- ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.
- Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Certificate(s) or License(s): Tractor Certified (may acquire certification after hired), Valid chauffeurs license
- Excellent safety and attendance records
- Knowledge of boat trailer model numbers
- Must wear hearing and eye protection in designated areas
- Willing to cover for opposite shift, as required
- Knowledge of operating tools and equipment: Forklifts, motor vehicles, yard tractors, power washer, hoist, hand and power tools, wrenches, screwdrivers
- Ability to distinguish basic colors
- Ability to distinguish shades of color Hearing, aid permitted
- Ability to distinguish numbers and written instructions
- Heavy lifting & carrying of 50 lbs and over
- Straight pulling, pushing, reaching over shoulder, use of fingers & both hands required.
