What are the responsibilities and job description for the Primary Montessori Assistant Teacher position at White Rock Montessori?
The Primary Assistant Teacher will take direction from the Lead Teacher or School Director in the preparation and maintenance of the Montessori environment for students. This includes organizing and maintaining classroom materials, supervising lunchtime, the set-up and clean-up of the classroom, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- High School diploma
- Experience working with children, Montessori experience preferred
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn class management skills
- Ability to take direction from the Lead Teacher or School Director
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- CPR/First Aid certified
- Basic computer literacy skills
- Completion of professional development hours
- Experience and love for working with children of diverse needs
- Knowledge of or willingness to train in the Positive Discipline Method
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 10:30 am - 6:15 pm
Responsibilities
- Support and follow directives of Lead Teacher or School Director
- Organize materials, making sure they are complete and ready for use
- Respect confidentiality of information pertaining to children, families, and/or staff
- Model integrity, responsibility, and respect for all persons as well as an appreciation for ethnic, cultural, and gender diversity
- Share responsibility with the lead teacher for the safety and physical well-being of the children at all times
- Maintain and foster a positive relationship with children, their families, and other staff
- While the Lead teacher is giving lessons, circulate around the classroom to support students with staying on task and helping with assignments
- Work with individuals and groups of children as directed by the Lead Teacher
- Deliver lessons to individuals or small groups of children as directed by the Lead Teacher
- Supervise students during lunchtime
- Supervise students transitioning to Extended Curriculum/Speciality Classes
- Other duties as assigned
