We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Funeral Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the funeral service profession, providing support and guidance to families during their time of need. This role requires a blend of technical skills, emotional intelligence, and customer service expertise to ensure that each service is conducted with dignity and respect.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of funeral services, including preparation, arrangement, and execution.
- Sanitize and prepare deceased individuals for viewing and burial, ensuring adherence to health regulations.
- Provide bereavement support to families, offering guidance on options available for honoring their loved ones.
- Collaborate with families to plan personalized services that reflect the wishes of the deceased.
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy and physiology to perform necessary tasks related to embalming and body preparation.
- Apply cosmetology skills to enhance the appearance of the deceased for viewings.
- Manage logistics related to transportation, documentation, and compliance with legal requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Assist in heavy lifting when necessary during the preparation and transportation of remains.
- Collect signatures on paperwork and contracts and collect payments for services.
- Ensure the database and physical file have completed documentation.
- Prepare and coordinate music/sound system/DVD during the service/visitation.
- Assist the answering service after hours with urgent calls and death calls.
- Coordinate live-streaming and recording of funeral services when requested.
- Drive vans when transferring inventory, including caskets, between offices, or on funerals.
- Transfer cremated remains between different containers.
Requirements
- Proven experience in funeral directing or a related field is preferred.
- Must be licensed as a Funeral Director and Embalmer in the state of Texas.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to empathize with grieving families.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and other professionals in the industry.
- Physical capability to perform heavy lifting tasks associated with preparing remains.
- Must have a Texas Drivers License.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $53,901.00 - $65,000.00 per year
