White Spruce Trailer Sales is the largest trailer dealership in Alaska and has been since 1999. White Spruce Trailers is also the 2024 Dealer of Year for trailer dealerships in North America. We are looking to expand our team and add a year-round, full-time Trailer Builder and Prep Technician. The ideal candidate has great attention to detail, is well-organized, can work unassisted and thrives in a fast-paced environment where each day brings a different task list. This is a physically demanding job and is mostly outdoors, during all weather conditions. All team members of White Spruce Trailers are willing to help in any aspect of daily operations and that will be expected from this position as well.
Job Description:
As a trailer builder and prep technician, your main role is to completely assemble the manufactured trailers that arrive from the lower 48, to include hanging axles, adding tires, hanging gates, etc. This role is critical to ensuring all trailers are ready for the road with the detailed pre-buyers inspection before they go to our showroom lot.
Additional duties are maintaining a well-organized, clean and professional appearance of the building lot and sales lot, performing basic repairs to ensure trailers are ready to go to the showroom lot, and assist customers with trailer pick-ups.
All tools and equipment will be provided.
This position requires someone who has experience with forklifts, power tools and other machinery, as they will be used daily. The forklift is used primarily for lifting units off of a stack and moving them to the ground.
Compensation:
$17.00 /hour DOE
Work Hours:
Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm
35-40 hours per week guaranteed
Requirements:
Forklift and/or heavy equipment experience
Current Valid Driver’s License with clean 10-year driving record
18 years or older
Must be able to lift at least 75 lbs, kneel, bend, squat and stand without discomfort. This job requires demanding physical activity to include lifting 40 lbs tires 10-20 times a day, getting in and out of forklift, etc.
Electrical knowledge is a plus, but will be trained.
On the job training will be provided.
