Valve Services Technician – Entry Level

We are looking for an entry level Valve Services Technician to join our Longmont based team. The Valve Services Technician will be responsible for the inspection, testing, maintenance, repair, and installation of valves in oil and gas facilities, adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Conduct routine inspections and testing of valves in accordance with industry codes, standards, and manufacturer specifications.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting valves, to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Conduct functional testing and calibration of valves using specialized equipment and tools to verify proper operation and set pressure relief settings.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with valves, including leaks, sticking, or improper operation, and implement corrective actions to address identified problems.
- Disassemble, inspect, and repair valve components, including valve discs, springs, seals, and actuators, following established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Document all maintenance and repair activities, including inspection reports, test results, and work performed, using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or other tracking tools.
- Assist in the installation, commissioning, and startup of new valves, ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical support and guidance to operations and maintenance personnel on valve-related issues, procedures, and best practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification required; vocational training or certification in mechanical or instrumentation technology preferred.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Experience working with pressure safety valves would be highly regarded,
- Some knowledge of valve operation and maintenance practices and/or understanding of relevant industry codes and standards would be preferred.
- Exposure to, or experience with testing equipment, instruments, and tools for valve inspection, testing, and calibration, including pressure gauges, deadweight testers, and torque wrenches.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and instrumentation issues.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and compliance.
- Walking, occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- May be requested to work outside of normal work schedule to meet business needs.
- Hands-on, self-sufficient and demonstrates a positive, can-do attitude.
- Quick learner; able to adapt to new technologies rapidly.
- Ability to work successfully both individually and within team environments.
- Highly motivated & ability to conduct themselves in a professional manner.
