POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs MRI operations to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Obtains patient history, explains standard procedures, views prescreening form and addresses patient questions and concerns.
• Ensures all exam orders are protocoled by Radiologist prior to performing exam.
• Performs MRI procedures as instructed by the Radiologist.
• Administers IV contrast when necessary.
• Assures that the completed exam is submitted with all required paperwork to the Radiologist.
• Displays a caring and compassionate demeanor when talking patients through the procedure.
• Follows proper patient and technologist safety in magnet room.
• Maintains quality control.
• Answers phones, schedules patients and collects any necessary coinsurance.
• Orders contrast and other supplies when necessary.
• Cleans and stocks magnet room (linens, syringes, gloves).
• Checks and updates medication and supplies inside the Emergency Kit.
• Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations, registries and licenses.
• Consistently displays a positive attitude and a personal commitment to excellence.
• Attends all department meetings and clinic required meetings.
• Maintains strict confidentiality.

Required Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma.
• Completion of ARRT in AMA approved school.
• Minimum three years of MRI experience.
• Florida license
• Venipuncture certified
• Current American Heart Association recognized Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk or hear. This position on occasion will require you to lift objects up to 40lbs. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, bend, balance, crouch or crawl. Ability to exercise good judgment and positively influence and lead others, including handling confrontations with poise and efficiency. Repetitive motion of upper body required for extended use of machines and computers.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position in an outpatient medical office setting. Days and hours are Monday through Friday between 7:30am to 5:00pm. Based on business need, the ability to work a flexible schedule, including some overtime, is required.
Travel:
This position does not require any travel.
Work Environment:
This position requires regular and reliable on-site attendance.
