Description
Forest Hills Golf and RV Resort is looking for a responsible Golf Superintendent to oversee and maintain the golf course grounds and common resort grounds along with providing administrative and supervisory services for the course and grounds crew staff. Works directly with the Golf Operations Manager and under the general supervision of the Resort General Manager. Requirements
- Extensive golf course management and leadership experience required.
- Must be positive, self-motivated, hard-working and team-oriented with desire for continued growth and improvement, both personally and professionally.
- Thorough knowledge of the construction and maintenance of golf course tees, fairways, roughs, and greens; of the planting and maintenance of plants, shrubs, and trees; of the characteristics and proper use of fertilizers and soil conditioners, herbicides, and pest control materials; of drainage control methods; and of watering and irrigations systems, to include wells, pumps, and automatic controls.
- Customer service oriented with an understanding of the process for providing quality customer service, meeting service standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction.
- Interpersonal skills to resolve conflict with employees and work-related issues.
- Monitors soil moisture levels and manages daily irrigation practices and scheduling to ensure optimal levels of soil moisture for playability and turf health.
- Supervise the planting, care, and maintenance of all turf on the course and practice areas.
- Supervises the operation, repair and upkeep of the maintenance shop, course maintenance equipment.
- Hire, train, schedule, and develop the maintenance staff per the established budget.
- Must be willing to participate in continuing education opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned by the General Manager and/or Corporate Office.
- Education and/or Work Experience Required: Two-year certificate, or four-year degree in Turf Management, Horticulture, Plant Sciences, Agronomy of closely related field, OR extensive experience in Golf Course Maintenance.
- Must possess or have ability to obtain MDA pesticide applicators license within 60 days of employment.
