Our client, a prominent investment firm based in the Fairfield area of Connecticut, is looking to hire an Assistant Controller to join their fund accounting team. This individual will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of the private credit fund, assisting with the preparation of financial statements, fund reporting, investor communications, and managing investor capital calls and distributions. The firm offers a strong team environment and a collaborative work culture. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days in the office.

- Assist in the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the private credit fund.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of fund transactions in compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
- Support the preparation of management reports, fund performance reports, and investor communications.
- Reconcile accounts, track fund investments, and ensure proper documentation of all transactions.
- Assist in managing investor capital calls, distributions, and fund valuations.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure audits are completed smoothly and in compliance with all regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA designation preferred.
- Approximately 6-10 years of experience in accounting or finance, with experience in private equity, private credit, or asset management strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and fund operations.
- Experience with fund accounting software and financial systems (e.g., Investran, eFront, or similar platforms).
