Construction Estimator

Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join their team. This role involves organizing and reviewing bid packages, updating project plans, and working closely with subcontractors to ensure the timely and accurate completion of bids. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial, retail, hospitality, and residential interior projects and be comfortable leading junior staff.

Job Function

• Retrieve and organize scanned plans or bid packages on the estimating server.
• Update weekly meeting minutes with new plans, bid due dates, and status of open bids.
• Complete the Estimating Checklist for each bid.
• Verify the subcontractor bid list with the assistant estimator.
• Ensure subcontractor bid invites are sent within 24-48 hours of receiving the bid package.
• Confirm date/time for site visits during the bid process.
• Verify project start and end dates are included in the bid package.
• Provide a trade breakdown to identify the necessary trades for pricing.
• Perform trade take-offs and unit cost analysis to qualify subcontractor prices.
  
  
  

Job Requirements

• 7 years of Construction Estimating experience in commercial, retail, hospitality, and residential interiors.
• Ability to be in the office 5 days a week in Nassau County.
• Comfortable leading junior staff members.
• Proficient with Estimating software.
