A prominent, successful, boutique real estate firm in NYC is looking to hire a Controller to lead their accounting/finance team. This is a hybrid role requiring 4 days in office.

- Treasury & Cash Management – Oversee cash activity, banking transactions, wire/ACH payments, insured cash sweeps, corporate banking relationships, and intercompany recoveries.
- Financial Reporting & Accounting – Lead all accounting processes, financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, year-end), audits, tax prep, reconciliations, and financial compliance.
- Investor Relations & Compliance – Manage capital calls, distributions, tax documents, member interest transfers, and financial compliance for investors and guarantors.
- Acquisitions & Financing – Oversee loan agreements, equity agreements, refinancing, dispositions, and accounting closing sources & uses.
- Tax & Regulatory Compliance – Handle tax filings (franchise, corporate, and LLC), beneficial ownership reporting, KYC documents, and regulatory compliance.
- Insurance & Risk Management – Oversee corporate and property insurance, construction claims, family office assets, and trust-related insurance matters.
- HR & IT Operations – Manage payroll, 401(k) compliance, employee onboarding/offboarding, offer letters, PEO renewals, IT risk mitigation, and third-party IT relationships.
- 10-20 years of relevant accounting/finance and/or public accounting experience
- Must have real estate industry experience
- CPA preferred
- Must be comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment in a rapidly growing company.
- Prior managerial experience
