- Provide legal counsel on all aspects of executive compensation, including:
- Structuring and drafting executive employment agreements, incentive plans, bonus structures, and severance agreements.
- Negotiating terms with opposing counsel to secure favorable outcomes while mitigating risk.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable labor laws, tax regulations, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement competitive compensation strategies.
- Monitor legal, regulatory, and market trends affecting executive compensation.
- Advise on employee relations, workplace policies, discrimination, harassment, wage & hour issues, and benefits.
- Assist with internal investigations, employment law disputes, and settlements.
- Provide legal guidance on employment matters across multiple jurisdictions, including international markets.
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the New York Bar (or ability to obtain registered in-house counsel status).
- 4-6 years’ experience at a law firm or within the legal department of a financial services firm (preferred).
- Substantive experience drafting and negotiating complex executive compensation arrangements.
- Deep knowledge of executive compensation laws, including tax regulations and compliance standards.
- Strong collaboration skills with internal stakeholders and the broader legal team.
- Solid understanding of employment law, including wage & hour regulations, discrimination laws, and benefits (preferred).
- International legal experience (preferred).
