STAT Accounting Professional - Insurance Company

A well-established insurance company is seeking an experienced Insurance STAT Accounting Professional to join their team. This role will provide exposure to both GAAP and STAT reporting, automation projects, and a range of operational activities. The position operates on a hybrid schedule (3 days in office).

Job Function

• Oversee general ledger responsibilities and prepare standard monthly journal entries
• Assist with monthly reinsurance journal entries and complete closing guides for subsidiaries
• Ensure internal controls are followed and maintain proper documentation
• Support statutory filings, including preparing financial statements and related footnotes
• Prepare Quarterly and Annual Statutory financial statements and conduct monthly reconciliations
• Develop audit work papers and assist in statutory financial projections and proformas
• Contribute to GAAP reporting and collaborate on special projects
• Provide cross-functional support across finance and accounting teams
  
  
  

Job Requirements

• 8 years’ experience in an insurance accounting role within a property & casualty insurance company, experience with statutory reporting software skills a plus
• Strong technical skills incorporating appropriate tools (excel spreadsheets, Word, PowerPoint, other tools)
• CPA – preferred, not required
