The city of Belfast, located in the state of Maine, is a charming seaport with a rich history.
We are seeking an experienced Anesthesiologist to provide locums coverage at our critical access hospital.
Position Details:
- Coverage Dates: January 1, 2025 - September 1, 2025
- Reason for Coverage: Retirement and relocation of two physicians
- Practice Setting: Our hospital is a critical access facility with three operating rooms and endoscopy suites.
- Schedule: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday
- Call Schedule: Every third shift, flexible
- Average Surgical Cases per Day: 14-16, including endoscopy procedures
- Patient Age Range: 3 years old to 100 years old
Procedures:
- General surgical cases (adult)
- Minor nerve blocks, plexus anesthesia, epidural, spinal, regional anesthesia
- Obstetrical cases
- Acute pain management procedures
- Arterial line insertion
- Management of acute volume/BP issues
Key Information:
- Trauma Level: No trauma cases
- Supervision of CRNAs: The physician will be responsible for their own cases
- EMR: EPIC
- Operating Rooms: Three sites per day
- Call Ratio: Every third shift, flexible
- Anesthesiologists in Practice: Four experienced physicians
- Staff Culture: Congenial and professional OR staff
Requirements:
- Board Certification ABA: Required (considering candidates in the board certification process)
- Maine State License: Required (or willingness to obtain)
- ACLS/BLS: Preferred
