Coverage Details
Shifts : 12-hour shifts (7 AM 7 PM or 7 PM 7 AM)
Monthly Shift Requirement : Five shifts per month
Additional Shifts : May need to cover mid-level shifts if no APP coverage is available
Patient Volume :
Annual ED Volume : 19,000
Average Volume Per 24 Hours : 51 patients
24-hour physician coverage with 12-hour APP coverage daily
Responsibilities :
See a full range of patients, from pediatric to geriatric, including acute and emergent cases
Procedures may include intubations, chest tubes, central lines, joint and fracture reductions, joint aspirations, laceration repair, and I&D
No vent management required
Work alongside APPs and sign off on their cases
Admissions coordinated through hospitalists and specialty groups
