Job Summary
The Town of Whitefield Police Department is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Patrol Officer. As a Patrol Officer, you will be responsible for enforcing laws, maintaining public safety, responding to emergencies, and providing a visible law enforcement presence in the community. Duties
- Conduct patrols of assigned areas to deter and detect criminal activity.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV, to identify suspicious behavior or incidents.
- Respond promptly to alarms and emergency calls, assessing situations and taking appropriate action.
- Enforce laws and town ordinacnes while maintaining a visible presence in the community.
- Engage in conflict management strategies to de-escalate potentially volatile situations
- Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies as needed for investigations or support.
- Document incidents accurately and prepare reports for review.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in law enforcement is preferred, but not required
- Emotionally intelligent
- Military and higher education is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Excellent observational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in high-pressure situations.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective reporting and interaction with the public.
- You will be required to successfully complete a background check, medical and psychological evaluation, oral board, polygraph examination and other testing as desired by the Whitefield Police
